Milk Chocolate Frosting
An easy milk chocolate frosting is a recipe every home cook should have in their recipe book. This is an easy 3 minute recipe you can use on cakes, cupcakes, brownies, and more.
I made my husband old fashioned birthday cake and used this frosting recipe to frost it. It’s a simple milk chocolate flavor made by combining powdered sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder, butter and milk. That’s it! It’s a classic recipe I’ve been making for years.
Milk Chocolate Frosting Recipe
The key to making any good frosting is using good quality butter that’s the perfect room temperature. Softened butter will melt perfectly into the powdered sugar, creating a creamy and delicious texture.
First, mix together cocoa powder and powdered sugar, until a light brown powder is formed. Then, add butter, and mix with an electric or handheld mixer until a milky brown paste is formed. Then, add vanilla and milk. Continue to mix until smooth and no lumps remain. That’s it! Perfect milk chocolate frosting.
Better than Store Bought Chocolate Frosting
This frosting is so much better than store bought and the cocoa powder combined with the vanilla extract yield a higher end flavor that pairs perfectly with homemade cakes.
Top with some sprinkles, and you have an easy iced treat. We hope you enjoy this chocolate frosting as much as we did!
