Asian Ground Chicken
If you’ve found yourself with a pound of ground chicken and need a great, easy recipe, look no further than Asian Ground Chicken. This easy recipe combines ground chicken, carrots, onions and a cabbage. It’s a low carb option with loads of flavor and we love it for weeknight dinners!

Easy Ground Chicken Recipe
Ground chicken is the perfect medium for easy weeknight meals. It’s lean, full of protein, and you can flavor it any way you like. For this recipe, we make it as a topping for white rice, but if you’re low carb, try cauliflower rice for an easy substitution.
Ingredients for Asian Ground Chicken:
- Ground Chicken: My favorite brand is Isernios. It combines both chicken breast and thigh for a ground chicken that cooks up better due to the fat in the chicken thigh.
- Carrots: A little chopped carrot for some color and flavor.
- Onion: I use white onion, you could also use green or yellow.
- Cabbage: If you don’t want to slice an entire cabbage head for this recipe, you could easily use celery, peas, or zucchini in it’s place!
- Soy Sauce: You can use coconut aminos in its place if desired.
- Garlic: Fresh is best, but jarred or granulated works as well.
- Ginger: Paste or fresh, your choice.
- Sesame Oil: For flavor, just a little bit will do it.
- Pepper: We skip salt due to the soy sauce and just use pepper.

Making Asian Ground Chicken
The first step is to cook the ground chicken in a little bit of olive oil.
My favorite thing about ground chicken is how quickly it cooks up. You can choose to cook it a little extra and have it browned, or you can cook it until it’s simply sautéed. Ground chicken is fully cooked once it reaches 165 degrees fahrenheit.

Saute Vegetables & Add Flavor
Next step is to add the veggies, and sauté them for about 3 minutes until they have a light sheen. Then, we’ll add in the best part, flavor!
Add in soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and pepper. Allow the veggies to cook alongside the chicken and sauce for about another 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

Storage & Reheating
If you have leftovers, transfer them to a lidded container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days post cooking. To reheat, simple microwave in a microwave safe container in 30 second intervals, stirring in between.
