Everybody should have an easy go to vinaigrette in their recipe box and this one is mine. The sweetness of the honey combined with the tanginess of the lemon compliments each other so well. This Lemon Honey Vinaigrette is a fresh favorite I know you’ll love.
The best part about this dressing is you likely already have the ingredients on hand. I have used this vinaigrette as my go to when I run out of dressing and I find the freshness of the lemon goes well with so many things. I’ve used this as a potato salad dressing, a dip for veggies, and a marinade for chicken and fish.
Ingredients:
Honey: Surprisingly I buy mine at HomeGoods. I always get good deals on it there!
Lemon zest
Lemon juice: I don’t add any vinegar, I like the simple flavor of the lemon juice and the honey. It yields a super flavored dressing without too many ingredients to dilute the taste!
Olive oil: Trader Joes is my favorite.
Granulated garlic: I prefer granulated for my salad dressings, the flavor disperses better.
Chives: Fresh or dried, chef’s choice. I used fresh.
Salt
Pepper
How to Make Honey Lemon Vinaigrette
All you need to make this easy lemon salad dressing is a few ingredients. I like to make mine in a mason jar but you could use any small bowl or even a glass measuring cup.
Add olive oil, honey, dijon, lemon juice, lemon zest, granulated garlic, chives, salt and pepper to a mason jar.
Use a fork or a small whisk to stir (or put the lid on and shake).
If storing, stir/shake before serving.
Voila! Easy homemade, delicious dressing.
Recipe Variations: Other Ways to Add Flavor
I love this recipe as a base to add other flavors. Lemon Honey is such a classic flavor combination, I’ve added different herbs, spices and cheeses to change it up.
Add fresh garden herbs like basil, rosemary, thyme, & tarragon for added depth.
Add 1/4 cup feta cheese and 1 tsp fresh chopped dill for a Greek flavor.
Make it Italian with 2 tbsp of shredded parmesan, and 1 tsp of dried oregano.
Like it spicy? Use hot honey and add 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (or more, if you like).
Tips & Variations
Taste as you go! Dressings are very subjective to personal preference.
Lower the fat: For a creamy dressing with lower fat, use plain greek yogurt instead of olive oil. You may need to add 1-2 tbsp of water.
If you don’t have fresh herbs on hand, use dried, or none at all for a simple lemon/honey flavor.
Storing & Serving Salad Dressing
This will last in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Because of the different ingredients, expect this dressing to separate.Simply stir or whisk before serving.
This is great on a lightly dressed salad, potato salad, or even as a marinade. It’s also great as a dip for vegetables!

Delicious! The sweet tangyness of the lemon really compliments the honey well.
