Orange Ginger Salmon
We love a good salmon dinner around my house and this one packs a flavor punch. Loads of orange, ginger, garlic, and sesame flavor make this one a healthy winner!
Easy Salmon Dinner
We love salmon around my house. It’s healthy, it cooks up quickly, and it’s super versatile. I love this version for a weeknight dinner, it has a ton of flavor and since the glaze is applied right to the top of the salmon, there’s no marination time necessary.
Pro tip: We actually recommend not marinating this salmon! The citrus juices can make the fish tough. If you want extra flavor, make a double batch of glaze, and using a silicone basting brush, brush it over the top halfway through baking. Repeat once before serving.
Orange Ginger Salmon Glaze
The glaze for this salmon is super easy. Fresh ingredients are always best but if you need to use dehydrated, or jarred (i.e. Jarlic, what I call garlic in a jar!) that works too. Ginger paste has a pretty fresh flavor, and I actually like it better for any glaze or sauce!
- Orange Zest
- Orange Juice
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Soy Sauce
- Sesame Oil
- Honey
- Pepper
- Sesame Seeds
Asian Glazed Salmon
Place the salmon on a foil lined sheet pan sprayed with nonstick spray. Pour the glaze over the salmon, and bake at 400 degrees fahrenheit for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon reaches at least 145 degrees fahrenheit. Personally, I like to take the salmon out of the oven when it’s between 135-140 degrees fahrenheit, and let it come up to temperature on the counter. This makes for perfect cooked salmon.
I recommend using an electronic meat thermometer for perfect temperature readings!
Tips for Perfect Salmon Dinner
- Salmon
- My favorite is Atlantic, but any type will work. Sockeye is my second favorite. Costco and Sprouts have the best store-bought salmon in my opinion.
- Citrus Flavor
- Don’t have. oranges available? This recipe works with lemon, limes and grapefruit as well. Meyer lemons would be the next best thing in my opinion!
- I love this salmon served with white rice, and steamed broccoli!
- Note when you’re making this, that the glaze can darken around the edges of the salmon. This is just from the sugar in the glaze and won’t affect the flavor of the salmon.
